Poor quality and a waste of time.

I agree with most of the reviews. The snaps are very poor quality, and half the time crush, making them useless. I will definitely not waste my time with them.
I did not receive the hole punch either, which now I am not very upset over.
I would never use these snaps for anything of importance on my boat.

Forget the punch doing anything......

The punch tool is nothing more than a paper punch....is not made to cut through leather, or heavy fabric? There is a hammer punch in the kit that works with a number a hammer strikes but you can forget the easy use of the punch. Why they show it or put it in is silly when it is not made to cut through anything as it has a flat surface on the punch...no sharp cutting tooth or hole cutting circle?

UPDATE: I put two snaps on my wife's favorite winter coat and she can't close them! The pressure needed to close the snaps is beyond her fingers' strength. The existing snaps on the coat are much easier to use, these will be a waste of effort and money for her coat.
The snaps seem OK, the first one worked once I found a working punch for the starter hole.
BUT the included "paper punch", that's all it might be good for, did not work. The parts were so misaligned that the cutting tool hit the guide hole edge instead of passing through to make the cut.
Even if it did work (I had an identical paper punch to use) it would not punch the medium weight polyester tarp I was testing on, so I had to buy a proper hole punch tool.
The instructions did not mention that, when forming the rivet for the button, you had to take care not to mash it too far so that when it fit in the bottom half of the snap it would pass through the opening, but still be firmly attached to the exterior of the fabric.
It's going to take some trial and error to get this done right.
