My laptop is way too hot to leave on a desktop without damaging the finish. I didn't need fancy cooling gimmicks, just something to elevate it and allow airflow. This is perfect and doesn't scratch the desktop or allow the laptop to slide around. There's just enough air space underneath to isolate it from the surface. I typically use it while standing but seated works great too.

I have a busy desktop with multiple laptops, monitors, keyboards and such. These stands were my perfect solution. I have two laptops flanking me and with them up and running all day, they can get hot at times. These stands keep them slightly elevated and at a comfortable working angle.
They are simple to assemble, and once together, there is no need to ever have to take them apart.
