We purchased this for our 5, almost 6 year old great niece who stays with us once or twice a week. It's a size 6 and fits her well, but she's on the small size for her age. If your sweetie pie, is average to bigger than typical for her age, I'd get a size up. Our little one loves the nightgown. It washes well. Haven't had it too long, but it's staying colorful and nice after multiple washings.
