Excellent Buy!

I am really glad I decided to give this brand a try. These units are compact, which is why I decided to buy them. I only wanted both machines (coffee maker and espresso machine) to take up 16 inches or so and chefman has accomplished this!
Pros of the unit
1. Easy to clean
2. Options for your espresso, milk froth, cappuccino, latte so you can play with the flavor some
3. You can use the milk frother without making an espresso, latte, or cappuccino which is nice for say hot chocolate
4. The top of the machine does get warm! So you can sit espresso glasses etc on it
5. It holds a good amount of water so you don't have to refill it often
Cons
1. The portafilter is cheap, but it's universal I think so it should be easy to replace if need be.
2. It is loud
3. The front controls- another buyer pointed out turning off the machine while you load the portafilter helps to not accidentally start the machine - I agree, this is necessary!
4. If you have a larger cup you will need to remove the drip tray to get your cup out after brewing. I also remove the portafilter and tilt the milk frother all the way up. It will clear after doing all of that. I use a 12.5 ounce double glass mug. It is 4.2 inches high. It fits a double latte just fine with extra froth!
Update:
I have had the unit for a year now and it still works just fine! I use it 1-2 times a week. I have also updated my cup to 16 ounces! The Tervis cups work great. You do still need to remove the drip tray. It holds a double latte with extra froth and you have a little room to spare! I rarely go to Starbucks now!
Cleaning tip: make sure to clean the espresso area (the top where the portafilter attaches) I use baby bottle brushes for this area. They work great to get all the coffee out.

Great machine for price!

Long time Starbucks customer (even though the quality of service has gone down, but prices don't). I bought this Chefman 6 in1 espresso machine and I'm telling you for the money $144.00 it's a good deal. I was opting for another machine or $799.00, but this does as good a job without all the bells and whistles.
Tips:
1. Read instructions first before use. Watch YouTubes videos.
2. Use only good quality beans to grind.
3. Use a grinder and buy beans NOT already ground. I coincidentally bought the Chefman grinder and set it at 10 (1-12 settings). Great! Note: You need nearly powdery coffee grinds to get the best flavor. An all in one measuring cup and tapper comes with it his machine.
4. Try flavored syrups. I use about 2.5-2.0 teaspoons per 8 ounces. Note: This machine dispenses 8 ounces on double Latte
5. Get double insulated glass cups
6. Press grinds of coffee in filter basket EVENLY! You'll know if dine evenly, both drips will come out evenly.
7. Use 2% milk to get best frothing. Note: You will need to adjust the froth level you desire. A control dial is in side of milk container. You can store milk container in refrigerator until next use.
8. Never go below water or milk container lines.
9. Clean as you go in use. Thorough cleaning weekly or more as needed. Has a clean function button cycle. Use periodically and make sure to fill the milk container with water instead when using this feature.
10. You will need to learn what settings, coffee and flavors that work for you.
10. Gets very hot QUICKLY! I make s double Latte in less than 1.5 minutes. Kinda noisy when operating but they all do.
11. Clean up is a bit of effort, but not too difficult or challenging and really not so bad it detracts from the overall benefits of this machine.
12. Make yourself a small clean and prep station by the machine.
13. The digital display is great! Clear pictures to show you what you want.
I think you will enjoy the level of quality for a great price. Enjoy!

Update: broke after 5 months

The media could not be loaded. Update: I enjoyed this product thoroughly from January until mid April every single day 2-3 times a day. It worked perfectly up until about 2 weeks ago, the seal for the milk frother seams to no longer work so that the milk does not froth like it used to and I have to press it up against the machine to work. The electronics broke after that and it no longer lets me us the touch screen. The original on and off button works and the display lights up but it does not work. It was wonderful while it lasted and I am very disappointed that it no longer works as it made my life so much easier, especially when I would prep everything the night before.
Original: I ended up getting the Krups coffee grinder and the chef man barista pro espresso machine. My only regret is that I did not do this two years ago. I had a $50 espresso machine from Walmart that worked OK but did not have an even pour and the espresso was always a little weak. The chef man was a gift, and the Krups I got to go with it so I could make sure that I had freshly ground espresso so that my coffee had the best flavor like Starbucks or Lineage or Foxtail coffee. The Krups grinder allows you to select what size you want the grounds to be for making lattes or cappuccinos do you want to make sure that it's about the coarseness of table salt to make sure that your espresso machine gives you the best espresso. In order to make sure it was the coarseness of salt I set it on between the little dot and dash on the particle size dial of krups grinder. The grinder is easy to use, it is not insanely loud but it isn't quite either. It is loud enough to wake up somebody if they are in an adjacent room to the kitchen. The particle sizes are about 80% consistent, which is good enough for making sure that your espresso brews well. The chef man barista pro is also not quiet by any means but it's 25% the volume level of the screaming espresso machine with frother I had from Walmart. The chef man barista pro saves me so much time in the morning making my espresso drinks because it measures out the liquid and has a measuring scoop for the coffee I grind before I pack it into the porta filter with the easy coffee measuring scoop and tamper and brews the correct amount of water and froths the correct amount of milk. It takes about 45 seconds to make a latte which used to take me five minutes to set everything up and froth and heat my milk. I was a little grossed out by the milk reservoir but if you have leftover milk I put it in the fridge for a day or two. I use planet oat unsweetened oat milk with about a tablespoon or two of the planet oat oat milk creamer, but I will say the oat milk that froths the best is Califia farms oat BARISTA BLEND that comes in a little blue box. This honestly will save me so much money and will pay for itself within the first month considering how much coffee I've been getting on the way to work or having delivered home with uber eats. The chef man barista pro espresso machine did have a little bit of a plastic chemical smell. I cleaned it really well with a straw pipe cleaner and dawn powerwash and I ran it outside probably 20 or 30 times over the course of a couple hours to get rid of the smell to make sure it was safe to have in the house as I have multiple pet birds who can actually be killed by the chemical coating left on during the manufacturing process (this is not to be confused with Teflon although it does kill your bird similar to Teflon with how it causes pneumonia and respiratory failure where they "randomly" drop dead two weeks later ) on some of the kitchen machines. The KRUPS grinder did not have a smell. Overall I'm pretty pleased and have been happily getting jacked up on unlimited lattes. I will update this review in six months or a year if anything goes wrong as long as I do not explode my heart from all the delicious espresso drinks I'm drinking now.

Easy to make lattes and espresso
Terry Azamber✓ Verified Purchase•September 30, 2023
This is the third machine I had bought off Amazon, trying to get a decent coffee machine. The other two I sent back. I won't state their brand names, but then I saw the reviews for this one. It is fantastic! It is easy to make fancy coffee with this machine. Yes, it is noisy, but so what? It is quick. In no time you have delicious coffee, espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
GREAT BUY & NICE FOR HOT DRINKS

This was a great buy. Now it's more expensive. So glad I got it when I did. Makes great cappuccinos and Lattes. Also gives great milk foam and for those who like expressos, you'll love this machine. It also holds large mugs. For cleaning, just remove the milk container and rinse or wash if not using again and the coffee holder is also easy to clean. Nice machine for the home or office.
