My mother recently passed and two things she decorated with and truly loved was the color of purple and hummingbirds. And this urn is perfect I know she would have been so happy to know that this will be how we will proudly keep her ashes in such a beautiful piece. We needed something for my mom, and the prices quoted for urns at the funeral home were just... ridiculous. I chose to look online, and sure enough, found this for a MUCH more reasonable price, and it has a color and design I know she would have loved. Hummingbirds and Iris flowers were her favorites, she loved gardens and being outdoors, and her eyes were blue, so it reminds me of her.
I was worried at this price it would feel cheap or be cheap - to light, easily dentable, the colors or picture off or faded or just not as good - but nope. It is just as pictured, in fact, even prettier in real life. The backside has the beautiful colors but not the picture (it wraps most of the way around but not all the way), but this is a perfect place to put an inscription or a plaque with her name and dates on it. Even without that, it's pretty (though it does make it so it definitely has a "facing side" in case you wanted something that could be viewed all the way around.)
I'm really happy with this purchase - especially for the price! And it comes with a very nice velvet bag to store it in, which is perfect as my sister is coming to pick it up and will be carrying it with her as she travels to my siblings. We weren't able to gather together when mom passed (for a number of reasons), so my sister is having small ceremonies with each of us this way until we can plan a time when we can all get together and inter my mom with my dad who passed many years ago.
If you're thinking of it, I highly recommend it.
