Will be using this as a head for monopod.
Perfect for monopod

Well made, sturdy and perfect for a monopod top. Holds my big lenses great and provides the ability to tilt the lens and keep great stability below it. Big easy to handle knobs are easy to find and use under the lens without having to look away from the camera.
Great quality.

Excellent
Works as described, but a little too gimmicky

I use this head with the Leofoto carbon fiber monopod. The head mounts firmly on the monopod, after a little effort (the monopod's just funny about mounting the camera or any head). The camera is mounted with the standard mounting plate on the camera and track on the head. Gimmick #1 - rather than providing the standard mounting slot, a knob on the side is used to open the mounting slot. Open as in so open the plate "swims" in the slot. hold the camera with one hand, hold the monopod with the other hand, and screw the slot shut with your third hand. Or... hold the monopod between your legs, hoping the monopod doesn't drop, taking the camera with it. It takes a little practice to open the slot just enough. It's an unnecessary gimmick.
The actual tilt process uses a scale on the side of the tilting track. Useful those obsessive about having the camera mount exactly 90° from the center axis of the monopod. For pete's sake, it a monopod that's tiltble. Close enough is good enough. Ah, yes, then there's the cute little bubble to confirm the head is dead level. On a monopod??? Leofoto does get points for using a big knob to hold the tilt angle in place. Great if you're wearing gloves while shooting.
To give Leofoto its due, the head is well made, light, and works in the field. It comes with a little draw-string carrying bag. I use the head permanently mounted on the top of my Leofoto monopod, which I sometimes use as a hiking stick. I have to make sure I don't stuff the head into rocks, but otherwise it doesn't limit using the monopod as a hiking stick.
In the end, although Leofoto offers the head as a monopod head, it's got enough "works well on a tripod" features, it's overkill or too gimmicky for a monopod. Would I buy it again? Doubtful. It depends on what the competitions, and at what price.

I may be in love with LeoFoto

After discovering this company a few weeks ago I have fallen more and more in love with their products. Though made in china everything I have received so far has a real solid professional build to it. There seems to be no slop in their quality control. This tilt head is no exception. Simple and easy with a really elegant design. This is exactly what I needed for my monopod, replacing a $300 overkill ballhead.
