I had a dog chew up my controller sticks and was a little nervous about taking the controller apart. This kit came with everything I needed and has worked great ever since.

Bunny chewed the rubber off both sticks and these were a perfect replacement at an affordable price. As other reviewers mentioned there are no included instructions. I checked out iFixits guide and watched a couple online videos. The side grips are hard to get off and I broke the included plastic pry tool in the process. Once the grips are off the 5 screws unscrew easily with the included screw driver. I laid the controller on it's back and then took the top off. The thumbsticks pop off easily and the new ones slide right back on, put everything back and walla as good as new saving the money for a new controller. I plan on purchasing another set for my black controllers.

Apparently it is a pretty common issue with Xbox One controllers for the rubber to wear off or break off the ends of the two joysticks on Xbox One controllers. The joysticks are still usable when the rubberized tip comes off, but my son complained that it was harder to play. One of the joysticks on both controllers was messed up. These seem like a perfect fit and, when installed, the joysticks now work just like the originals. My son plays Xbox constantly and said they worked good as new. You do have to take apart the controller to replace these. You can watch Youtube! videos on how to do it. Replacing them is very easy EXCEPT removing two plastic covers on the controller. Those are not held on by screws but held on by plastic tabs. They take some working to get them off as you are trying to be careful not to break anything. After doing one controller, it was significantly easier to do the next. I didn't break any of the plastic tabs on either of the controllers. I was careful, but the plastic tabs must be less fragile than you would think. The kit comes with two plastic tools for removing those aforementioned plastic covers as well as the torx tool needed to remove 5 screws that have to be removed to replace the joysticks. Videos show this, but there is one screw behind a sticker under the battery compartment. I was able to do the repair using nothing but what the kit provided. This saved me money from having to buy new controllers and these joysticks really do work as good as new. Again, doing this is NOT hard, but it does take some work and patience to remove the plastic covers (to allow you to get to the screws). The tools that come with the kit make that easier. Removing the screws to get off the top cover of the controller and removing and replacing the actual joysticks is incredibly easy.

I was able to install the toggle sticks fairly easily and my 6 year old controller feels brand new again!

I only have a couple minor complaints. First, the little plastic pry tool was too flimsy to be effective. The tip got bent and mangled while trying to pry the housing off the controller and I ended up just using a small flathead screwdriver. Second, the packaging could use some improvement. The components were all just thrown loosely into the box which seemed a little hokey. Maybe add some plastic bags or some other way of containing the components in the box.

Overall a great product at a good value. Would buy again
