Proudly Made in The USA! - SoliTube Slat Privacy Inserts for Chain-Link Fence, Double-Wall Vertical Bottom-Locking Slats with Wings (5ft, Black)

Key features
- •FENCE PRIVACY: Unlike fence tape, these slats are designed to easily slide vertically through your chain-link fence for optimal outdoor privacy. Determine the diamond size of your fence by measuring diagonally between the parallel wires, not corner to corner. The added privacy of the wings leaves no unsightly perforations or wave pattern. Compatible with 4', 6', and 8' height fences.
- •QUALITY DESIGN: SoliTube slats are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), color pigments, and ultraviolet (UV) inhibitors designed to lessen the harmful effects of the sun and extend product life. The coextruded thermoplastic elastomers of the wings are soft and match the texture and sheen of the HDPE body of the slats. They are durable and resistant to severe weather conditions.
- •COVERAGE: Each slat measures approximately 1 7/16" wide with the length being approximately 3" shorter than the overall height of the fence (e.g. 6-foot slats are 69"). These vertical privacy inserts add from 90% to 100% privacy to regular 2-inch diamond, 9-gauge chain-link fabric. They also work with 11-gauge chain-link fabric.
- •WITH YOUR ORDER: Each bag contains 82 slats and covers up to 10 linear ft. Also, included in each bag are 3 Viper Channel pieces 42" in length (allowing for 10' of coverage with 6" to spare). These double-wall slats with privacy fins on each side come in a variety of standard colors.
- •EASY TO INSTALL: The perfect privacy fencing solution, these slats are made to easily slide down vertically through the chain link and lock into the Viper Channel Locking System. These channels are attached together with an orange ribbon, which extends out the end of the bag for easy retrieval.

My neighbor installed a chain link fence with built-in while plastic slats after several of his trees were blown down against the fence in a big wind storm.
I have a 10' chain link gate that connects to his fence. I really like the privacy his fence provided so I bought these slats to put in my gate.
They were easy to install for the most part (my gate has been in place for about 30 years and the chain link is a little bent in places). Someone mentioned to cut off about a 1/4"-3/8" chamfer from the bottom corners to help in slide in place. It does help. My gate is 6' high and took about 2 hours to install, there are a lot of slats in 10' and a bit of a learning curve. On a newer fence/gate, installation should be a lot quicker
I like them so well I bought more to install on the gate on the other side of my home.
Privacy was much better than the product description said I could expect -- almost 100%, I have to stick my face up to the gate to see in. Cannot see into my back yard from a foot away. They look good too.

These slats are very good for our style of chain link fence, we had the 1 inch slats in the fence when we purchased the home, I could never get them to stay in place and the privacy was minimal.
These are much better and with the bottom locking system they will stay in place.
I ordered two bundles for one section of the fence and when I returned to purchase three more bundles they were out of stock, customer service kept me posted and when they were back in inventory I received and email, good service. Price increased too Boo!
The bad- The second order was i inch shorter than the first, should be exactly the same for all bundles, may not have caused a problem except I had some slats in my large gate from the first order so in order to make it right I had to remove them and start over. A pain for sure but overall they look great and did give us the privacy we were looking for.
Be aware, if your fence has the wide type chain link these will not give you much privacy.

After installing if you look into the property from the left side you can see inside but look in through the right side, no gaps and total privacy.
I'm happy with it

I put up a new gate and wanted a bit of privacy so the multitude of sins in my side yard wouldn't be visible to the whole street. It's only 80% coverage because the chain link is large, but I think it still looks nice and provides enough privacy at a casual glance to satisfy me.
Installation went faster and easier than expected. The slats were a couple inches too long. If I had been smart, I would have cut the first slat to fit the gate and then cut the rest of the slats to that size prior to installing them. However, I paid more heed to my brawn than my brain that day, so I installed them all and then trimmed after the fact. Not as tidy as it could have been, but c'est la vie.

So I've never been a huge fan of these as I tend to think they look kinda cheesy and cheap...but so do chain link fences in my opinion. I decided to take a chance so I could gain a little privacy from our neighbors and keep our dog from barking at them...the chain link fence isn't going anywhere so might as well embrace it. I also have flower beds along this fence that tend to fade into the back ground of their yard so I'm excited to see all my plants pop against the more solid fence look.
I almost cheaped out and went with ones that were half the price but I'm glad I didnt. These aren't cheap, but well worth it. They are wide enough to fill the whole space available for each slat. Obviously the joint where it's all connected leaves a little open strip but that's it. When looking straight on you can still see through but it gives decent privacy. The slats are well made and sturdy and easy to install, the don't bend easily and that helps you get them pushed all the way down. As others mentioned, I also didn't use the bottom channel, it's not really needed unless you want that extra inch of coverage at the bottom. The slats are tight when in place and won't move easy so the locking channel isn't needed in my fence to keep them in place so just opted to eliminate that step. I kept them just in case for some reason they get lose, easy to add on later if needed.
I attached some photos of the end result looking straight on. But also just the first test panel I did. You can see that looking at them from the left you can see through pretty easy, maybe 65% coverage. Straight on privacy goes up to about 90%. But looking from the right it's 100%. It's kinda like a blind slat just depends on the angle how much you can see through. The slats sit at a slight angle when inserted but that's just the natural angle created by the chain link. Nothing you can do about it but overall I'm very happy with the result and the product. I'm glad I spent more to get a good quality product that offers as much coverage as possible. Time will tell if the fade in the sun, hopefully not. But I'm really happy with how this turned out and love the added privacy!
Oh and I'd suggest to measure your panels. I ordered one pkg to test before spending a bunch to do the whole fence. I wanted to make sure I liked it first. Anyway the test section I did used one whole package. So I just counted the remaining panels (8) and ordered more... easy right!? Lol Well each section isn't exactly the same width. I currently have a whole package left...I still have more to do as I work my way up the driveway so they'll get used. But one package does about 10' maybe a few inches more. So I'll be measuring each remaining section so I don't buy more than I need.
Overall great quality product, great privacy, highly recommend.
