Second Review:
I received the replacement KidKraft Desk with Chair. It arrived in great condition. The new chair sits perfectly on the floor. My Granddaughter loves it and is perfect for her. One caution to new buyers is to manually and very gently attach the screw on the underside of the white table top. If forced in with a screw gun, it may penetrate the table top. I mention this because I've read in one of the reviews that this was an issue. Overall, however, I'm very pleased with this item. It is beautifully designed and functional.

I love this KidKraft Desk with Chair; however I did have issues which necessitated requesting a replacement, as follows:
(1) 10 missing screws on screws labeled "S". The instruction brochure stated there should be 20 screws. Only 10 screws were provided. (I would have rectified this myself if this were the only issue).
(2) One chair leg a flaw with the painting where the lavender paint has rubbed off. (I also could have accepted this as a minor issue and lived with this imperfection.)
(3) One chair leg is shorter than the other three legs which makes the chair very wobbly. (This is what prompted me to request a replacement.)
I am excited about getting the replacement. I think this is a wonderful desk/chair were it not for the issues I mentioned above.
This furniture is easy to assemble, sturdy, and ergonomic.

This was relatively easy and straightforward to put together. KidKraft does better with instructions/steps than most, but it's still about an hour and half of assembly here. The end product looks nice, is sturdy, and is something I'd recommend for 4-7year olds. Our 6y/o is in love, and has def spent more time doing homework or craft related tasks since she got her desk. She takes pride in keeping it clean and up to date. Our only issue was the chair was off balance. KidKraft has a straightforward and free part replacement program which was great. But now we have to wait for that piece, any day now. Overall we're happy with the price, quality, and look. For those reasons we're in!

This desk will function, all of its issues are minor but enough that the price shouldn't be so high. Like other purchases there are some minor cosmetic issues, scraped up leg of the chair, drill holes not perfect. One of the legs of the chair is not even so the chair wobbles, sand it down and you are good. Assembling is the hardest part even though this says no assembly acquired you assemble all of it and its a bit difficult. Once you get halfway through you notice that instead of 20 'S' 32 mm screws you got 10 and instead of 4 'R' 25 mm you got 10 and even though your list of items does not pass 'U' you have 4 'V' ??? screws. It took me about 20 minutes (and some deconstructing) to realize that the 10 'R' labeled screws were actually the rest of the 'S' screws and the random 'V' were actually the 4 'R' screws needed. After that everything went by smoothly and we will probably get a couple years out of this.

I bought this for my daughter and this study desk is awesome. Very elegant finishing, easy to make and awesome look.
This desk make my daughters room complete with beautiful look.

A few things to look out for with this one:
NOTE - the instructions are entirely pictorial so there's nothing that says "hand tighten" or "orient this way" anywhere.
- I've included a picture (white desktop) of where I cracked the desktop because I used a screw driver to tighten some screws. I've also included a picture of the step (Step 17) where there's no indication I should simply hand-tighten. I'm really bummed about cracking the desktop in a few places because of this so heed my cautionary tale
-I've included a picture of Step 9 which doesn't tell you how to orient the three pieces you're dealing with. I tried to screw it in the wrong way and this may be where people report the wrong hardware. My husband and I sat there for 5-10 minutes thinking we had been given the wrong screws before we figured out the pieces were in the wrong orientation. I included a picture of the KidKraft logo which should have clued us in as to how to orient these pieces. Oops!

I'm unhappy with the performance of the drawer. It's very clunky and although it's still usable, it's really not up to Santa's standards and I'm bummed this is a pretty big part of what the big man is bringing this year.

Otherwise, there's a few cosmetic blemishes I noticed due to shipping that I wouldn't have otherwise noticed if I hadn't been the one putting it together.

The desk and chair and very sturdy and we order the purple which came exactly as pictured. A really nice lavender.
