I had a 16 lb turkey and could not close the lid completely, I was close though. It also arrives with a pretty big dent on the bottom Edge and a scratch on the inside which eliminated the Coating in that area. Not sure if that was the manufacturer's fault or Amazon delivery for the outside don't but the inside is definitely the manufacturer. Other than that it's a pretty good sturdy pan and it worked well
