I raise monarch butterflies (I release approximately 400 every year) and their host plant is milkweed. When the caterpillars get to their last stage they have voracious appetites and I go through a lot of milkweed. I have not been too successful growing milkweed from seeds, but I can propagate it from cuttings. So after I cut the milkweed stem and give the leaves to the caterpillars, I put the stems in these little tubes with water and set them inside on the windowsill. I like that the tubes are clear, so it's easy to see the water level and the root growth. It's easy to put multiple cuttings in each little tube so that means I can put many cuttings in this little tray. I also really like that the tubes are plastic"¦ Glass tubes and tile floors do not mix. Ask me how I know. I am really glad I got this set. It has made my milkweed cutting propagation much easier..
