These briefs are ideal for many folks having to manage their urinary incontinence issues.

As I mentioned previously in other reviews of similar products, I have nerve damage and mobility issues from a serious motorcycle crash about two decades ago which necessitates finding/using solutions to manage my urinary incontinence daily.
These briefs are yet another solution that, quite frankly, seems to be one of the better alternatives to wearing diapers or a less-than-reliable penile clamp that can come off at times thus causing leakage onto your clothing and down your leg, or having to deal with bladder and urethral infections that often result from indwelling catheters, not to mention the discomfort of the indwelling catheter, and, lest I forget, bettet than the possible surgical solutions that are not guaranteed to work, cost a ton of money that I don't have, which the insurance company says is "elective surgery" (you have got to be kidding me, right?), and whih surgeries have other inherent risks (which is why they want you to sign a legal waiver of medical liability claim form prior to being wheeled into the theater/operating room).
Here is why these incontinence briefs are soooo much better, in my opinion, and my newest go-to for managing my urinary incontinence issues vs. diapers. (#1) They fit snug, are quiet and look like regular underwear should the waistband peak above your belt, unlike adult diapers which, let's face it, are unmistakeable when they peak above the tops of your pants, and make "crinkle" noises (plastic-backed diapers are less likely to leak odor and wetness vs. cloth-like pullup diapers), and are more bulky, especially when filled. Further, in comparison to diapers, these briefs are far more hygienic and easier to discreetly empty or replace the collection bag in a restroom stall vs., with the diapers, you must tear open the sticky tabs (or cut/rip them) as quietly as you can in case others are within earshot, then roll it up as carefully as you can to prevent any spillage and place it into a leak-proof bag, tie it up and dispose of it into a trash bin on your way to the wash sink. Plus, there is that stigma which surrounds wearing diapers, i.e. people thinking you are suffering mental decline or that you are some kind of pervert with a diaper fetish. With so many people around the world who have found diapers to be the best solution to manage their incontinence, you would think that others would be more tolerant and mature about this, right? For overnight, unfortunately, I must continue wearing the diapers because these briefs will leak when lying down in bed.
In comparison to the indwelling catheter, these incontinence briefs are also far superior because they are much less likely to lead to bacterial infections and pain/discomfort that require calls to the clinic or visits to have the indwelling catheter removed and replaced (or to be told "you will get used to it and it will be less problematic or uncomfortable over time").
These briefs are also much better than penile clamps, which physically clamp down on the shaft to block urine leakage, are super uncomfortable -- even painful, and tend to slip off or get snagged by clothing which makes it fall off, thus spilling any urine in your bladder onto your clothing, down your leg and onto whatever you are sitting on or standing on.
So, yeah, I apologize for being too direct in my review when comparing these external catheter briefs with the alternatives when managing urinary incontinence. I just wanted to submit my honest review of these briefs, which can realistically be a much better option for managing urinary incontinence for some folks, like myself.
Oh, and as far as cleaning these briefs, I would recommend a gentle laundry detergent, such as Woolite or one of the baby laundry detergents. Hang or lay flat to dry -- absolutely, do not dry these briefs in the dryer machine. Hand wash these briefs and be sure to clean and disinfect the drainage tube if you plan to reuse it a few times before changing it out with the collection bag at the end of the day. When attaching the collection bag, I like to place it around my leg, below the knee, cut the tubing to take out extra slack, then reattach. This makes it almost unnoticeable to casual observers, even when the collection bag is full, and more comfortable (I often forget I am wearing the briefs and collection bag) under my clothing.
