I bought these pears twice. After about two days the fruit softens so it is actually better than when it first arrives but several of the pears had rotten spots in them. We cut the bad parts away and the rest was ok. We both wear partial dentures and so it is difficult to bite into hard fruit. But as I said wait about 2 days and it softens up and then the fruit is juicy. It isn't as pretty as the photo shows so don't expect beautiful perfectly colored and ripe looking fruit. It has a better taste than the grocery store but still not the taste of the pears we remember.

I was a gift so can't tell you about the taste but it came in the shipping box and when you opened the shipping box, the fruit was right there. I would have thought that there was a nice looking box inside with the fruit but I was wrong.
The package did arrive before the designated date...that was nice.

I have been purchasing these pears as gifts for many years. I started sending them to a cousin for her birthday when I found out she loved them. After many gifts to her and others - who all gave rave reviews, I was challenged to order them for myself! I am on my second pear and oh my heavens - why hadn't i ordered these before. They are sooooo delicious and just dripping with wonderfully crisp flavor. I was told to place the box in my refrigerator and set one or two out on my counter in their wrappings or in a brown paper bag for a few days until they ripened and were slightly soft. Wow fantastic.

They don't come fully ripened. You just leave them covered for a couple of days and they ripen right up. There will be brown spots but that happens with all pears. The taste is so fresh ! 3 lovely varieties ! I will be a repeat customer !
