You can see old urine stains. My dog had a hard time potty training when he was a wee baby so there were a few old spots. Though we cleaned it up with other spray, you could still see the stains. We used this before using the carpet cleaner. It smells good also.

My dog is older and had knee surgery earlier this year and developed a bad habit of peeing in upstairs bedrooms while she was prevented from going up and down the stairs. She unfortunately went to the bathroom repeatedly in our media room and despite cleaning it immediately each time we found a spot, the smell lingered. I used this product for the first time over the past few days and the smell is all but gone. The light makes the stain spots literally glow (best results for me were when all lights were off in the room and surrounding areas) and as you spray and wipe you can watch them disappear. I found spots I didn't even know were there, and know my rooms just smell like oranges. Only downside was the holder was a little loose for the light so I had to keep holding it. Otherwise, I can't recommend highly enough.
