The product is great and works as advertised. However, make sure you carefully check the dimensions. I bought it to lock regular kitchen cabinets, but both sides of the locking mechanism are too thick to fit through the space between the cabinet door and the cabinet pull. Many kitchen cabinet pulls have a clearance of about 0.75 inches and the non-lock side of the lock is about 0.8 inches thick.

I purchased this lock for a cabinet. You know, one of those put-it-together-yourself closet cabinets. The cabinet holds all of the boys electronic games (consoles, hand-helds, chromebooks, etc.). As a single parent of 3 boys I try to limit the game time since boys don't like doing homework, house work, etc. My boys would play games all day if they could, and I had to do something. The closet has side-by-side doors and I have tried 3 other locks before this one, my creative thinkers broke into all 3. The large piece where you turn the key wheel on this lock is sort of thick so I had to unscrew the handles of the closet a tad, but it works and no one broke in, so that is a BIG plus. It is also easy to change the code so even if I wanted to change the code weekly it would be an inconvenience.

This was bought to keep food-pilfering housemates out of my side-by-side refrigerator-freezer. The only way it might be improved would be if it had a five-digit combination to better assure that a determined food-thief with time to kill cannot eventually figure out the combination.
