This curtain rod comes in two pieces. After you use a piece of tape to hold the pieces together, this works perfectly. Being rough with the curtains means the rod slides a bit, but it doesn't fall like a heavier curtain rod. These are light and thin, but the stabilizers on each side are very effective. The rods are also easily adjustable for any size fit and can be adjusted without fear anything heavy falling on your head. These would be great in a child's room if there is any possibility of bonking any little heads. This lightweight metal feels like aluminum, and while it would be a startling thing to have fall it would be more fear-based years than pain ones. A kid could easily maneuver these by him/herself as long as a piece of wrapping tape held the pieces together.

The 2 rods came in 4 pieces, which had to be assembled. I was able to assemble 1 with some effort, but the other one did NOT want to fit together. It took some slight crimping, WD-40, and a hammer to get the 2 pieces together. I finally got the 2nd one assembled. They both work as they should, and seem very sturdy. But there was a serious amount of frustration in the assembly of them, which I feel resulted from a small design flaw, that could be easily changed, without compromising the integrity of the product.
