Works awesome. FYI for future buyers though. I received one and it didn't work so I was sent another one. That one also didn't work. The problem was the o-ring prevented the end cap from making connectivity for the batteries. I had to crank down on the end cap for it to work. I was concerned that I was going to crack the plastic cap due to overtightening. Now it works as it should.

I use a lot of these types of indicators and this Klein NCV has the same issue that all of the others have... the probe end is too short. These are used a lot by the inspection business and they are invaluable. The downfall is that the probe end being too short, it is not always usable for 250V plugs like for Dryers or Ovens. I have had to result to using a dummy plug to put into the receptacle and then use this NCV to check each hot leg of the dummy plug cord to look for voltage. IF the end were longer, it would go deep enough into the receptacle to be able to pick up indication that the receptacle is hot.
That being said, the tester does exactly what it says it can and it is lightweight for sure. I just think that the average pirce of about 20 dollars US is a bit high for what is provided. The flashlight is minimal for sure but may help in a pinch to not require a flashlight in the other hand too.

This is a quality product and if doing any electrical work, a must have. It's super small and much easier than bringing out a multi meter when you need to see if a wire is hot.

I recently broke my favorite 25 year old "Tic" and was certain that I would not find one as good to replace it, since several that I had bought as spares over the years were bordering upon useless.
