Standard CAD formats add value

Because I am a former CAD educator, this product appealed to me as a retired hobbyist. Right away, I reviewed the product file output formats, which include AutoCAD's .dwg as well as .dxf and .dwf. There are pictorial formats as well (bitmap, ping, and jpeg) but I like the capability for .dwf since I have experience with the Autodesk Design Review engine, a copy of which I own. Currently I am setting up semiformal engineering drawings for inclusion in a web site, and I intend to use this software as the flagship. The software so far is easy to learn and capable of advanced projects; so far I have not run into the "educational" limitations, which in any event can only be minor, in view of my non-commercial ambitions.

So far CorelCad has been good. The interface is similar to Autocad so the transition for any pro would be easy. Overall the program is sold but could use some polishing for it to compete on a professional level. The pricing is really good compared to other software yearly subscriptions or permanent license. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a budget friendly CAD software.
