I have some similar cables at home but none worked with a new Sony tv. I saw the reviews and bought a couple of these cables and yes they do work with the new Sony televisions. I can connect a dvd player, older games console etc.

Upon purchasing a new SONY OLED TV, I realized that the old RCA cable that connected my AV receiver VIDEO OUT to the TV VIDEO IN would not work because the TV VIDEO IN jack is a 3.5 mm multi-ring connector.
I needed a compatible video cable between my AV receiver VIDEO OUT and the TV VIDEO IN to be able to calibrate surround sound speakers. The AV receiver displays a rudimentary video menu (think Commodore 64 display). Nonetheless, I still needed the video to adjust the speaker calibration and other AV receiver adjustments. After unsuccessfully using some similar looking adapters I had accumulated over the years, and using a single RCA-->3.5mm adapter cable I had purchased, I checked the pin-outs on the SONY installation instructions for the adapter cable recommended. I found that the plug ring assignments for the adapters I tried did not match the SONY specs. I was able to find an adapter that did work, but only by checking out the pin/ring assignments. That was a temporary fix until I installed this adapter and it works fine.
The short version is that this adapter works with a SONY TV. I connected an RCA cable to my AV receiver, then connected the cable at the other end to the adapter and plugged it in to the TV VIDEO IN jack. It indeed works with SONY TVs. And as prices go, this is a good value.
