This is my first drone so I am still getting used to it and getting the feel of working correctly. The card that comes on the remote is easy to follow. I haven't used my phone much with it because I am getting the feel for it. This is not a drone you can just turn on and fly because it needs to be calibrated. I can fly the drone pretty long time and I like that it comes back to me when the battery is low. I have flown it in to trees multiple times, really high tress, and it's as if the propellers pull themselves in and it's always fell out of the tree. Believe it or not it still works great! It does have to be on a flat surface and hard to take off from grass. I used the case to put the legs to stabilize it to take off. This is a great drone for beginners. May be difficult for younger kids without the help of an adult due to the calibrating.

I am a complete novice when it comes to drones. A week and a half ago I bought the Holy Stone 175D. The only thing I knew about drones was the reviews I saw on Amazon and a few YouTube videos. The Holy Stone 175D had a lot of good reviews especially for novices like me so I bought it.

When it came a view days later and I opened it I was not intimidated by the package . In side was the drone in a great hard shell case with the drone, the controller, a screwdriver with an extra set of blades, an extra battery along with charging cables for the drone batteries and one for the controller. Also was the complete instruction book. The drone is lightweight but very well constructed. When you put the arms out they lock into place very solid so they won't collapse on impact. There was also a battery loaded in the drone so you have two batteries to work off from. The controller is very easy to use. Read the instruction book and you will find the drone very easy to use. I took the drone out to a local park with lots of open air and by following a few short directions to calibrate the compass and set the gps I was up and flying. The 175D has two speeds. One is for beginners like me which is at 50% and the other is for experienced operators at 100%. Again I had no idea how to fly a drone but by following the directions it made it very easy. The Holy Stone has built in controls that really help some one like me. It has auto take off and auto landing. It has a return to home to bring the drone back and land it. This is really good if the it should get away from you it will bring the drone back to where it took off.

To say I am really happy with the Holy Stone 175D is an understatement. In a short time I have gone from not even knowing how to start a drone, to being able to fly it around and have a great time doing it. So far I'm still in the beginner mode but that is fast enough for me I can't imagine how fast it will go in the second mode.

I highly recommend the Holy Stone 175D for beginners like me or experienced operators. It's light weight and will do everything you want it to do.

I got this product and had great difficulty getting it to be calibrated. Following instructions booklet and video did not help. I had to call the support and they were helpful. Customer support patiently walked through setup. The first drone had to be returned and 2nd replacement worked out of box. I would consider this as entry level drone and easy to learn. Working to exercise all the features of this HS175D drone.

I recently retired and after watching some drone video's on YouTube, I decided to buy one. I have never owned or operated any RC vehicle in my life (I'm over 60).

After some online shopping I settled on the HS 175D as a starter. My first flight was short and ended in a dirt crash. My second flight was at a park and went beautifully. I had a ton of fun and can't wait to get it back into the air. I'm thinking of suggesting this to a couple of retired former coworkers so we can meet at the park and have some races. That should keep us out of trouble and out of our wives hair.

Summary; because I have no experience with RC I should have gotten a more "beginner" model, with the set-up steps, this copter is a bit more than I thought it would be. There are 4 or 5 steps to prepare it for flight but once it's in the air it's a lot of FUN!!! My next drone will probably be for outdoor racing and I'll certainly be looking at the Holy Stone drones.

The Holy Stone HS175D drone is the only drone I've had. From the beginning I read the instruction manual before doing anything else and recommend you do the same. The manual explains everything you need to know in detail, however I still have to reference to it for the start-up sequence. it's not as easy as turn on and use like a RC car, there's several things that are required to do prior to actually getting to fly the drone. It's not a long process but definitely necessary to pair the remote with the drone and calibrate it's gyro. After that you're able to experience what seems to be more than your average "beginner" drone. There is "beginner" setting that can be set so it slows the speed down until you're used to the way it responds or if you're in tight spaces. Otherwise the speed and response is quite fast, almost too fast when around obstructions! The camera adjusts fairly slow but has an awesome picture resolution, the videos I took were equally impressive. The "return to home" feature is great except when there's obstacles in the way! There is nothing keeping the drone from plowing through trees or any other thing in the way, so make sure you have a clear shot between its location and "home" (the spot it launched from) before pressing that button! All in all I've really enjoyed this drone. The only thing I wish was improved was the batteries. The flight times seem to be short and sweet. The transmitter has the capability to hold your phone. This is handy because Holy Stone has an app that you can use. It transforms your phone screen to a dashboard so you're able to view through the camera while in flight, plus access/control other features on the fly as well. I did reach out to Holy Stone for support and I have to say that they were very quick to respond and always helpful with any issues I've contacted them about (even if it was an "operator error"). They even offered me a free battery so I'll get to enjoy more flying time!
