It's almost TOO Beefy.. but a great cable.

I bought this for a data cable in one of our cars that has carplay.
FWIW, if you have carplay and go to an Iphone15, a regular "Charging" cable won't work, you won't be able to interface with carplay on the device.. So, you need a data/sync cable in order for it to work.
.
This cable works fine, but it's a very beefy cable, so if your phone has to stay in a tight spot while you're driving it might be a bit unmanageable. If not, this is a very nicely build cable. The USBC is aluminum and the cable thickness and insulation itself is very sturdy.

It seems to work fine

I bought the three pack. I only tried one out so far. It was to connect to a high speed SSD drive. It seems to communicate with the drive just fine, and is providing power to it. the cable is relatively thick round cable, which at least has the bulk to meet the specs given. And both connectors seem to be in solid.
So the three things I was most worried about don't appear to be a concern. In the early 1980s, and earlier, a cable was a CABLE that met certain standards. These days, just seeing the message "CHARGE" on a cable SCARES me, because too many such cables lack EVERYTHING but the ability to charge.
It seems this will work, as the above picture indicates, they advertise this for even this EXACT use!

Mind you, this 3 foot cable works well to connect iPhone 15 Pro to vehicle via CarPlay.....this black version though is a bit more robust than I had anticipated. Could be a little more flexible, but not a deal breaker. Good value at this price.
Perfect Fit - Android Auto

Bought a new car that has Android Auto Careplay. Was getting lots of disconnects. Purchased this cable and it fixed the disconnection problem. The shorter length keeps the wire management clean. I would highly recommend this cable if you are having issues with Android Auto disconnects.
It's a cable

It is definitely a USB-A 3.0 cable. Transfer speeds are good, it didn't snap in half or tear itself apart in the outlet so, yeah. It's a cable. It does what it's supposed to.
