I gave it 4 stars for the install as I had to use the illustrations for the install. There were no written directions. It has a clear readout on the display. As far as I can tell, it is accurate and shows the current draw when using the batteries. Good value for the money.

I was once told you cannot ever improve anything if you do not take measurements. If you have a solar setup, you probably want to grab one of these. The amount of information it gives you about the input, output and storage of your solar setup is everything you will need to make improvements or prepare for upgrades. It even keeps a record of production and consumption. The screen is also easy to read. Very happy with this.
It does what it says it does, but shunt housing maybe needed.

It does what it says it does. The issue is where you put/mount the shunt.
I used this to install solar on travel trailer. The battery is up front. I needed to install this in the front where there is no cover and protect against water.
Solution that I came up with something like this.
I used PVC conduct, drilled into trailer's frame (self-tapping screw or drill a hole and nuts and bolt)
Electrical mastic tapes to cover screw/bolt (so that it doesn't touch the shunt)
The shunt is about 4&1/2 inches.
Just go to local hardware store and get things look like this:

I believe I got 5 inch Conduit Body, 5x5 square Seal Compound and looks like thick version of play-doh thing (to seal after you place the lines.) Ask local hardware store person for assistance (Electronic sales person). It cost me about $10 for extra parts.
