This is an amazing little machine for the price. Unfortunately it has been laden with the negligent inclusion of a sodding great elephant in the form of a beep module. If sanity is important to you, get yourself a screw driver and open the remote control. It won't do to tape over the hole in the little black cylinder. Nope. You've got two options, channel-lock wrench it right off (you probably won't destroy anything) or if you are more discerning, grab a soldering iron and pull the piezo out clean. Everything the beep accomplishes can be read in the response of the machine, without holding a gdbeeping time-bomb. The most idiotic thing is, if you turn off the remote, in hopes the audiophonic trauma isn't long lasting, after fruitlessly hunting for a non-existent mute button, the drone starts buzzing around of it's own free will, as though the designer's whole purpose was to force you to make this stupid choice for fun. Once you silence the controller, you'll find a whole lot of fun in a very small package. The concept that you can learn to maneuver while on the ground is a great way to build up to controlling the drone reliably in the air. The granularity of control is usually pretty full and it is good to have the two control modes. It is light enough that it won't destroy much and near indestructible. The ground mode isn't great but interesting. The water mode is a bust so far. It seems to just wander in circles when it is waterborne, not responding to the remote. But the way it hovers is cool looking, fairly stable, and fun to fly - a good cheap first drone. Buy extra batteries. Learn here, then buy something more feature rich when you are ready.

This was a gift for my grandson. He seems happy with it. The batteries don't last very long, but he is able to get the drone to do what he wants. The item is a little pricey for what it is.

We've seen the HydraQuad for a while now, getting early peaks at virtual Toy Events throughout 2021. Now, it's 2022, and the HydraQuad has come home, with thanks to our friends at WowWee for sending us a gift card to purchase. The HydraQuad is a fantastic, multi-surface hover vehicle, and when I tell you it flies, I speak only the truth! It's fast, nimble, stunt friendly, and can easily change from driving over land, to skimming the water, to diving in water, and taking off into full flight! Now it's still pretty much winter, so we had no chance to mess with the water skim / dive, but driving is fun and fast over smooth surfaces. And flying is so amazing! Just make sure it's not windy out! Controls are very sensitive and responsive. Pulling off a stunt is as easy as pressing the right trigger and a direction on the right stick. It's great that WowWee includes additional propellers, anything that flies can crash, but the HydraQuad is so light that even falling without power it almost sails to the ground. Such a great experience, definitely recommend!

Works great all three modes my son really enjoys it

Good drone. Survived many crashes. The sound it makes when battery is low is a bid annoying so I opened the remote and removed the part making the sound.
