No assembly other than attaching the sticks together which almost go together automatically. These are sturdy and colors are great. I buy these every year for decorations and they keep the squirrels out of my plant pots lol.

Update: The company contacted me and sent me another package of windmills. Some do not spin but between both first and second box I have a couple extra that all spin. Happy the company made it right and will do business with them again.
