This little player can play Region 2 (Japan) DVDs and can even play PAL-formatted DVDs! May seem obvious since it's advertised, but the Sony DVD/Blu-Ray player I have also promises that when I look it up online and in reality seems to play anything BUT those two things! At this price, this is an excellent solution!

Plays what I want it to play, and connects up to what I need it to connect to, but it's awfully noisy when it's running. You can hear the mechanics of the disc spinning, a continuing noise that's distracting if you're near the player. Also, the remote has a basic design, with lots of similar buttons.

Buyers beware! I would give this product zero stars if I could! It's a joke! Wouldn't even turn on start out of the box, I followed the plug in and start directions and tried many different outlets thinking maybe it was my fault but nothing! The remotes and the DVD player are trash and a waste of money spend your money elseware invest in something that works! It feels super light and cheap as well!
Update, customer service reached out to me and refunded me so I could purchase a new player, I think that was very nice of them and would say this is worth a buy, it is possible mine was a lemon.
