At this price I thought I'd take a chance and I'm glad I did. A three band active bass for no money incredible buy. The woods are great and the fit and finish is amazing. The accessories well the gig bag has absolutely no padding. The cable is your free one you get when buying a guitar so virtually useless. The tuner is good as is the strap. The bass is very attractive. The frets are beveled but not polished. The inlays are set perfect. You will need a battery for the bass and the tuner. The truss rod needed to be tightened but it is smooth as butter and works perfectly. The three band active electronics is great. Maybe the best part about this bass is the tone. It's really popping jumps out at you. Really this is a $1000.00 bass every day of the week if there was a name brand on the headstock.

OK, I got my bass yesterday, came to me my UPS, really nice guys and very careful with it. Box was not damaged at all and it was double boxed for shipping ( A nice touch ). I opened the box to see a gig bag with a bass guitar inside. Came with a tuner, strap, some picks and 2 cables / with a Allen wrench for the neck set up. Now I have to say the work working on the guitar is top notch, very clean job. Nice finish 100% perfect. I bought the 4 string model, and all I have to say is it looks really nice, but and here's the but, I came almost not put together, pickups are not screwed down all the way 1/4 inch high, very sharp fret ends, could really cut your fingers, and there is NO set up on this bass. To be honest it looks like they ran out of time to finish the bass for the price they wanted to get for it. I have not plugged it in yet, until I do all the work to finish their assembly, sand the frets, and tighten everything down, check under the hood and make sure the wires are done right. The bridge is so far up on the big E string that very hard to try and play or keep in tune as it sits. It's a real shame because they really have a gem sitting here and I knew going into this guitar that it needed work. So I will move on with this review after I get some work done to this bass and will report back on how it sound and preforms on a pro level use. It's not really a cheap guitar at all, it's just not finished by the builders. So it should be sold as a prefinished custom kit, they would sell better and people would know what they are getting into. So as it sits it's not playable from the factory, and needs work. A shame they seemed like they have anyone to set up or put together this fine bass. You know your way around a setting up a guitar or bass then this is for you, if your just starting out learning bass I would pass and find something that is 100% finished from the builder or it you don't mind paying someone at a guitar shop to set it up and file the sharp frets, then you will have a killer bass. I will come back after I get this set up and report on how it plays and sounds, so stay tuned.

Great bass for the price! I would agree with other reviews that this is beyond a beginner's bass. Yes the frets are sharp and tuners need to be tightened but if your like me and have your favorite strings you plan to swap in.. while the strings are off do a little filing on the frets and then use done fine steel wool to polish up the frets. You will see I used painters tape to mask off the fret board but later I ended up smoothing out the fret board also with steel wool. It had a bit of a rough feel on the wood, but the steel wool smoothed it out well.. I then applied a little mineral oil.. feels nice and smooth.

I was able to lower the action nice and low without and fret buzz and without any need for truss rod adjustment. Some other reviews mentioned that the pickups sounded good.. I have to agree! On less expensive basses I have gotten in the past (for example a Harley Benton) I wasn't happy with the tone and put in Nordstrand pickups.. which by the way are sweet. But for now I think I'm happy with the stock pickups. BTW, my comment regarding my Harley Benton bass is not meant to be negative.. that bass was only $180 (about $60 less than this Bullfighter) and well with the money"¦ HB's are definitely worth considering when on a budget.

Anyway, I am really enjoying the Bullfighter bass.. with a few tweaks, which I enjoy doing anyway.. you have a great bass. It is certainly worth the $240. The build quality is good, light weight but not to light.

The bass itself I can't say much other WOW! Needs a little tweaking to get the string height where I want it, but plays amazing straight out of the box after tuning! The gig bag is not too bad, but the cable, strap, tuner, and picks are very cheap quality. It didn't even come with the bullfighter picks or strap in the picture, just same old cheap stuff I have gotten from other cheap guitars.

After purchasing one of the Bullfighter Neck Thru basses I was impressed enough to by this model too. There is a Youtube review of this guitar which has at least one error. This bass has a five piece neck, the stripes running the lenght of the neck are not painted on the stripes are wood glued together to form the 5 piece neck, My guess is maple and mahagony. No battery is provided with the bass so you will need a 9v battery to play it. Frets are pretty good no fret sprout playable as is out of the box in that reguard. Mine did require a truss rod and action adjustment but so has every other guitar I have purchased from Amazon. Sounds and plays well. This has music man style pickups, they have very strong magnets, I've had good luck using the Music Man recommendations for the pickup height 1/4 inch from the string to the top of the plastic pickup top,do not fret the strings when setting the pickups. In my opinion the bass looks better in your hand than the pictures show it is a looker. FWIW it has an open pore type of finish, Truth be told I like this one more than the neck thru. I did purchase this before there was quite a substantial price hike before they sold out. Even at the last price before they ran out this would have been a good buy.
