I was looking for an AM/FM radio and CD player. Searching Amazon and the internet I could only find big and awkward looking boom boxes mostly in black colors or ugly red. This may be fine for a backyard BBQ or picnic. I wanted something I could put on my built in (which happened to be white) inside my house where I could play back ground music using the FM radio and CD player. While scrolling Amazon for radio/CD players magically appearing, was a nice color size AM/FM radio/CD player called Studebaker. One look and I knew I had found a hidden treasure, retro looking, white in color not only AM/FM radio and CD but also includes cassetts!. I now could finally use my CD's and cassettes and not have to worry about downloading music! This portable player has everything you need to enjoy music. Not only does it plug in to an outlet but is uses batteries so you can take it anywhere on the go. I'm very pleased with my purchase and with the built in speakers it is loud enough to hear in my great room. This product is made in China as most things now seem to be. The levers for playing cassetts are cheap looking and I'm sure would break if not being careful. I would not give this as a gift to a child as I think it would break and damage easily if not being careful. This player , in my opinion, is not heavy duty and although its named Studebaker its not built tough as RAM pick up truck either! You must be able to take care when using it and treat it nicely. If you want something to throw in the back seat of your car or truck with all your other gear and head for the beach, then this player may not be for you. There is no assembly or installation, right out of the box you can enjoy your music. If you want something that looks great and be able to listen to the radio, play CD' and cassetts with no problem then I would consider trying the Studebaker portable player. Give it a try, if it dosen't work out you can always return it and buy the big heavy black boom box you have been dreaming about! MIT

When my old boombox started to have problems, I was on the lookout for a replacement for over 3 years. One day, this popped up in my email, looked good, so I bought the least expensive color, white. The sound is more than adequate for its size, and most of the controls are easy to use, or at least not hard. It's also smaller than my old boombox/radio/CD/tape player, so that's a bonus.

I purchased this so we can use for cassette's also. The actual sound comes out the sides so if there is something next to it the sounds are muffled.

I enjoy being able to play some of my old music tape favorites, CD's and listening to my favorite radio stations. It is important to set the settings for each type of usage, such as tape, cd or radio to receive ultimate sound quality. I set the FM Stereo setting for CD and Tape playing. It is a nice compact entertainment center and looks attractive on end tables.

This radio sound quality is excellent and it's inexpensive and sounds great!!
