Our older shredder went kaput, so looked for micro shredder to deter dumpster diving for bank and other financial data. It's very quiet, with a see through panel for emptying. One quirk on assembly, when attaching head to top of container. It stuck and small pics weren't very helpful. Almost grabbed a rubber mallet to hit the top, but stronger blow finally connected the pieces. Tolerances were tight.

I chose this shredder because it claimed to be "super quiet." Honestly, this machine is quieter than I hoped. Its sheet limit is a little lower than I wanted, but the lack of noise, even when shredding expired debit or credit cards, it really the most important feature to me.
