Not for the faint of compressor

An air hammer/chisel can be a remarkably helpful tool, but requires a large volume air compressor to operate for any length of time. They tend to be used for longer periods of time, and even the best ones, for such sustained use, require a lot of air volume--the cheaper ones, such as this, are massive air hogs. If you compressor is only marginally adequate for an impact wrench, it will be inadequate for this air hammer (note that numeral 6 semi-buried in the product description". So don't fall into the trap of purchasing a tool which your compressor can't keep up with.
If you are adequately "aired", you are apt to be happy with this tool for occasional use. It's clearly not a 100% duty cycle tool (and be happy it isn't, you couldn't stand the constant vibration), but it is a fairly rugged tool that should hold up for intermittent use if kept properly oiled and free of moisture. It's heavy (the light weight metals are part of the reason for more expensive alternatives, but that mass also helps control vibration.
Overall, think carefully if you have what it takes to power this tool--if you do, it's quite handy to have--I do.

This air hammer et has served me well. I have used it for a couple of projects and the heads are super effective, cutting up the target material with ease. The weight is considerable but it's required for this kind of tool.

The media could not be loaded. So this product works AWESOME! A few weeks ago we noticed water was pooling up on our basement floor. We opened up the wall and found a nightmare behind it- the people who sold us our house had obviously had some cracks in the walls, because when we opened it up there was just this nightmare of leaking, moldy , half @$$ patch jobs where they had just slapped some mortar and cement over some deep drill holes that were leaking water.
With this air hammer my hubby easily smashed out all the old rotten patches of cement that they had just slapped on over the holes. Once he saw that these old deep drill holes were the problem, he then used the air hammer to smash out the entire section of the wall and removed the entire section.
When we saw that we were going to need to remove and smash out a large section of our cement wall, we went to home depot and a few other tool rental places to see about renting or buying some sort of jackhammer or similar tool. They were hundreds and hundreds of dollars just to rent, let alone buy!! Not really expecting to find anything different, i started searching amazon. Thank god this product popped up, it saved us hundreds of dollars!!!
The air hammer is really easy to use, and it doesnt require any kind of assembly or anything. Hubby just screwed the handle on, connected it to our small air compressor, and it was good to go. Within seconds he was using it to smash out pieces of the wall. It works great.
