Moved into our current house 6 years ago and have battled the nasty fart/egg smell of well water but only on the hot side. After reviewing different brands I decided to give this a try as a last resort before spending an insane amount of money on an additional system to eliminate the smell. Install was easy and within 4 hours the hot water was about 50% better. As directions stated, no need to drain the tank during or after the installation. The next day, we were able to shower smell-free without smelling up the house of egg smell for the first time in 6 years. I never post product reviews but this thing has really impressed and lived up to all the other comments/reviews. Been installed for 4 weeks now and no smell since. Highly highly highly recommend for those looking for a solid and cheap cure.

We have well water with Sulphur in it. This has helped it a lot but still has that smell a little bit. I'm not sure if this was to completely take away the smell but it has helped it.

I was very skeptical to spend $100 on this without being sure that thus was my problem. We had replaced the water heater two weeks earlier and after about a week the smell coming from the hot water was horrendous. I bit the bullet and tried this. WOW, is all I can say. It has been almost a week now and my water smells great, or should I say, doesn't smell at all. The picture is of the anode(only two weeks old) that came out of our water heater. You can see that it has taken some damage by the hydrogen sulfide eating bacteria that the Fixodor eliminates in the heater. We have some pretty high iron content in our well and thus did the trick.
