We completed our first marathon with this and I'll say it's critical supply for our run. We took one pack every 5 miles. The last 6 miles was so tough that we cannot finish the race without this. The race organizer does provide similar product but we don't like the flavor. In a race we cannot take any risk like eating the stuff we didn't get used to.

I run marathons and have tried a dozen different makes of energy goo. This one is my favorite because its a bit more liquidy than the others which are more like a thick paste. To me (just my preference) because it's a thinner goo there is slightly more quantity. This gives me a feeling of having a treat during my run which helps with an emotional lift as well as the energy boost. These have about the same nutritional value as others and are available with or without caffeine. My personal favorite flavor is the apple but they are all decent. I also like that they have a litter leash so the little plastic tear-off isn't lost along the trail.

I really missed PowerGel because it was the gel that had the highest sodium content so I was happy to see it back! I couldn't wait to try it! I used it on a very humid day while running a 15k. The flavor and texture is great! It was so easy to take and wash down with water! I carried it with me and took a half packet at 2 separate aid stations. The package design is great. It was easy to tear and easy to fold back up to put back in my pocket without leaking out. I maintained my energy throughout the humid morning with no cramping and felt great afterwards!
