I have been making my own hummus for years and have tried all the tricks to make it the best that it can be. I have cooked my beans from scratch with and without baking soda in the water. I have tried all the different brands of canned garbanzos. I have tried different tahini brands and different proportions of tahini, different proportions of olive oil etc.
My hummus is really good! I never buy it! I use canned garbanzos, lemon, tahini, salt, a little pepper, a couple pinches ground cumin and ground coriander and fresh garlic and a good olive oil. Blend it for longer than you would think it needs and sprinkle with sumac and finely chopped parsley and drizzle with olive oil. Recently I decided to buy Soom tahini. There is a lot of hype about this tahini I one hundred percent did not expect that it would make any difference to my hummus. I mean tahini is tahini right? Wrong!!!!
This tahini made the best hummus I've ever had. Somehow it was creamier smoother and more delicious than any hummus I ever made. I do not understand this considering the ingredients are just sesame seeds. That's it! One single ingredient! I have no idea why Soum sesame seeds are better than everyone elses sesame seeds but trust me on this. How is this stuff so good? The hype is real!

I have been using this tahini for a while. The latest shipment arrived with my subscribe and save items and it had these dark flecks along the side. I'm not sure what they are, but I've never seen anything like it in tahini. Both jars in the shipment came this way.
