Most comfortable boot Ive owned

The feel the support the cushioning the waterproofness? Its everything you could want in a boot. They do get a little warm once tempurtaures pass 98F however that is a minor complaint. I love these boots and will be a repeat customer if these boots wear out
Great boots - as always!

Been using Merrell for about a decade and I'm still loving their products. The boots do have some decent contours, so if you have flat feet like me, it may take a little time to break them in. Once broken in, they are extremely comfortable for all-day wear.
Great boots for day hikes

I got these boots for a week long vacation in Colorado where we did day hikes nearly every day. Not super long distances each day, but probably 5-10 miles in general. Went through small streams and on a wide variety or terrain (almost all maintained trails) and never had any problems. Very comfortable, no wet feet. Only minor complaint is that they seem a little small. I wear size 10 in other Merrell shoes, but these in 10 were a bit snug. Unfortunately by the time I discovered this, they were used and I couldn't change them for a different size. I'd probably recommend walking around a lot in your house before taking them outside (so you can exchange them if needed).
It is a good hiking shoe

First of all, I like the shoe and it is very comfortable. I would buy it again. That's good but I've only wore it three times. My background: I am 75 years old and walk my dog two times a day. The path is in the wooded area in the back of my house. It is a 1/4-mile trail up and down through some pretty good bumps and valleys. I had Foxelli Men's Hiking Boots for 2 1/2 years and they were giving out and water coming in. You may ask the wisdom of buying boots just to walk the dog. My dog is not the best trained dog that has come down the pike. He is a Newfoundland-Lab mix and weighs 120 pounds. When I use to walk him with street shoes, I took a tumble twice. Once when there was mud and the next time trying to help my dog catch a deer. I know what a face plant and dragging through the woods feels like. The Foxelli boots were good and got me a few years. It did give me a blister at first, but it went away and never had problems. The new Merrell Men's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot is great so far. It seems to have a tighter grip than the last shoes. It is very comfortable, and it is waterproof. I always see post that say they will update later and never do. If I think about it, I will but remember the age of the person typing this review. Great hiking boot, looks good, and I would definitely buy it again.
The best ones yet!

I've had great luck with Merrell Moab Mid boots. I've had the originals, the Moab 2s, and now, the Moab 3s. I was in a store recently and was wearing my Moab 2s and tried on the 3s. It was a revelation! The 3s have more structure and bit firmer sole which helps me as so much of my hiking is gravely/rocky cross country high desert. Immediately comfortable right out of the box and know they will break in slightly. The EVA midsole is a concern for everybody as they can disintegrate in time with lack of use and, particularly, in humid climates. As mentioned, I live in the high desert and have yet to have an issue with the EVA midsoles. In addition to the Moab Mid boots, I also have two pairs of the Moab shoes (I think gen 2) that are also holding up well.
I'm a day hiker, no longer a backpacker so can't speak to that use but I often carry a day pack of 10-15 pounds (I'm 6', 160#) but it's not for rucking, it's because I need certain survival gear as I'm alone in the backcountry for most of my hikes. All the generations of Moabs I've owned are also great for in town wear. Their waterproof rating is, shall we say, generous. You're not going to stay dry fording a creek or in heavy rain but they work fine in dry snow if it doesn't come over the top of your boot. I wear a variety of merino wool blend socks of midweight so do consider your sock's thickness when your sizing these. I wear a 12 in Moabs but in most shoes (like Sperry Top-Siders or Clarks desert boots), I find 11.5 fits better.
