I love that this mail box door was easy to install. I was so impressed. This literally made my day. I was so embarrassed by my broken mail box door. Thank you.
Easy Fix for Mailbox

My mailbox door wouldn't stay closed, was rusting and one rivet on the hinge broke. It took a little work to get the remaining rivet out, but installing this door was very easy. The magnet on the door keeps it closed. I have had the clips on the inside catch on soft packages. I have to be careful when pulling those packages out.

Great for brick mailboxes

Our mailbox door was a little worse for wear but it's inside a brick column. My husband was pleased to find this product. It was easy to install and looks great. The latch is strong but still easy to open and close. Definitely recommend.
Fits well and easy to install

The door replacement fit nicely and was easy to install except for two minor issues. First, the inside of the mechanism for the flag interfered slightly with one of the tabs on that side during installation, but it ended up working and looking fine. Second, the little nut and bolt on the top of the frame prevented the frame from fitting flush with the old mailbox (the head of the steel bolt is what the magnet on the top of the door meets, to keep the door closed - the door is likely to pop open without the magnet and bolt). So I removed the nut and bolt and drilled a small hole into the top lip of the old mailbox, then replaced the bolt in the frame and was able to thread it into the hole. This was easier to do than it sounds, the only possible problem being that the nut and bolt are very small and potentially very easy to lose. The only real difficulties I had were removing the previous bolt and wing nut for the old door hinge (the original rivets had rusted through and I replaced them about 7 years ago, now the replacements were mostly rusted solid and one of the tabs on the old mailbox door had already rusted through). Also dealing with the numbers was a bit of a challenge (a template or something similar would be nice). Overall this is a very useful and much needed product.
