I had to wear an ankel brace that had laces like an ice skate. Worked fantastically. I would add two updates. 1. Make it in a neon color to find in your dark pocket book, as I carry it to physical therapy. 2. Add a flashlight so you can see the black laces against the black brace to expedite the process.

While I'm sure this lace puller will work just as good on skates, I'm using it as a handicapped assist to tighten laces on my side-zip tactical boots, which I wear instead of ankle braces. (Surviving stroke victim) .
The puller is well made & should last forever. The hook part swings out easy, but stiffly, so it doesn't slop out, which is perfect. I got by for years just hooking my finger under the crossed laces & giving a tug. But lately, arthritis is getting my fingers & it's too painful with bare fingers. This little gadget is PERFECT!
