This stuff is delicious. There is no comparison between this and McCormick type Americanized curry powders. It is deeply warm and spicy, without being hot. I add lots of white pepper, Thai chilies, a little white vinegar, some other things.

Love this stuff, just wish it came in a tub.

Love this curry, great taste

I have been searching quite a while for curry powder comparable to the iconic taste of the discontinued powder by Cross & Blackwell. Cross & Blackwell was a staple curry powder used by most Chinese home and professional cooks for decades and was the signature curry flavor commonly associated with Chinese curry dishes. I was thrilled after first tasting of the one by S&B. It's flavor and aroma was rich and fragrance, with just the right amount of heat. It's not a replica of Cross & Blackwell, but sure comes close. A little tip: Be sure to release the full flavor of the powder by first toasting it with some oil and fresh garlic for a few minutes before adding any more ingredients; doing so makes a big difference in the final taste.

This is a special curry, called for in a number of Japanese and Middle Eastern recipes. S&B is good quality, packed securely, works well in these special recipes. Recipes using this curry are favorites for us and have earned rave reviews from friends to whom we have served these curry meals.

I've used a lot of curry powders in the past 35 years. This one is a really nice balance between not being too mild and not being too spicy. It's very fresh and makes great curry dishes
