Note: This is for the red box with the small bins on top. The tool boxes in this Amazon listing are not all equal. That's the problem with listing numerous items under one ad.
Plastic is fairly thick and rubbery (not brittle). The locking latches work well. The small cases on the cover snap down sufficiently but do not lock. The tray fits securely in place. The top handle is textured with deep lines to help the hand grip well.
I won't be taking this out of the house so it's perfect for me. I have a metal tool box that I've had for over 40 years and will be passing it on to my kids. I wanted a second box for the tool I use most often so I don't have to dig through those tools I rarely use.
Overall not a bad tool box. The hinge looks like the weak spot but this box at least has a metal pin to hold the hinge in please.

My daughter and son-in-law bought me a dremel for Christmas, so I ordered this little tool box to keep it in along with it's accessories. It's the perfect size for this tool, and works great. My only complaint about this tool box is the lid doesn't open quite far enough to stay open. With most tool boxes, the lid will lay all the way open so you can access tools easily while working. This one opens at a 90 degree angle, and then closes again if you let go of it. Mildly annoying, but you can pull out the tray, so you can at least set the tray on the top of the tool box, or on your work area for easy access. The lid issue is bothersome enough that I dropped a star off of the rating. It seems good and sturdy, and I'm sure it would be easy to lock if you needed to. I have no need to lock it. I like the little compartments on the top of the box, but I haven't decided what to use them for yet. They may be big enough for some of my more frequently used dremel accessories, so that might be a solution to the closing lid problem.

The first one I received had a damaged lid, but the seller quickly replace it with no issues. The toolbox a good size and has a couple of handy little compartments on the lid as well as a removable tray inside. The toolbox seems to sturdy but this is not a heavy duty box. I think it will work just fine for a few hand tools and supplies. Overall it seems to be a good box for the money.
