I emptied my 11.5 gallon hex tank so that I could out in some live plants. I used Amazonia substrate and chose to plant it with these seeds. Once I had the substrate and my driftwood where I wanted it I filled with water until the water level was just below the level of the substrate, meaning that the substrate was moist but not flooded. I then planted the tall grass behind the driftwood and dropped the seeds for the dwarf grass in front of the driftwood. The recommended number of seeds per square inch for the dwarf variety is something like no more than 50 seeds per square inch. I was careful to drizzle the tiny seeds sparingly so that I didn't wind up with too many in one spot. And then I waited.

And I waited. I kept the seeds moist by spraying them lightly with water every day. It took almost a full week for the seeds to begin to germinate, but once they started sprouting I slowly and carefully filled the tank to the top with water so that I could turn on the filter. The plants grew very quickly, reaching full size in about two weeks after germinating. The claim is that the tall grass will grow to about 4 inches, but as you can see from my picture the tall grass ended up about 8 or 9 inches tall, which is fine for my tall tank.

All in all happy with my purchase.

These seeds worked wonderfully to give my aquarium a carpeted look. The only complaint is that the directions state that both plants will sprout in 3-5 days. The grass did sprout quickly, but the mini leaf took about 2 weeks to see any green growth. Had I known this, I would have staggered planting the seeds.
Edit: After growing the mini leaf is not what it was advertised to be and is growing much larger than expected. My fish do seam to enjoy it so I guess that's good at least.

Can't go wrong with these, quick and high germination rate. I dumped these in my 5 Gallon with water and have a garden, didn't even drain it out. They germinated everywhere including just floating, used about 10% of the package and have a full grass bed.

I needed these to naturally filter the water and add coverage for my tadpoles in their aquarium. It took longer than I thought for the seeds to start growing. I needed them right away and added them to some moss rocks in the tank and some flooring that was supposed to let plants grow through. They did amazing on the rocks. So, I definitely reccomend trying to grow them on some moss items or have moss as the flooring in your tank. Overall, it took nearly 2 months for the plants to grow to a mature size and take root well. I had to have them fully submerged the whole time and had a sunlight on them daily. The seeds, once wet, are very very sticky so be mindful of that. My tadpoles LOVED nibbling away at the seedlings as they grew and now that they're growing nicely they enjoy swimming through the plants themselves. Definitely worth the wait for the price and happiness of the lil tadpole babes!
