This was the second type of King Oscar sardines that I tried. These wild ones are packaged in olive oil with jalapeno peppers, which impart a nice bit of flavor. Overall I found the taste and texture on these sardines to be quite pleasant.

I love King Oscar sardines! You simply cannot get better value than King Oscar. My family members love the tomato dines, because it masks the dines and is great for starters into the dine world. I personally prefer the ones just in olive oil, but I see the appeal of these ones too.

I liked these more than I expected. I have been buying larger wild-caught canned sardines from a different brand, but I like that these are smaller (even less mercury, I believe), and very tasty. I love that they don't smell particularly fishy, like other sardines. I don't mind the fishy odor, but it means I have to fight off our cats for it lol. As long as these don't start going up in price, we will continue to buy them here and from this brand (am placing another order now).
