My First Electric skateboard
Grant Gross✓ Verified Purchase•September 10, 2023
I recently moved into college and bought this skateboard as a way for transportation around campus. This is a great way for me to get around my campus. My prior experience to riding skateboards/longboards is nothing. So this Longboard is my first time riding and I am having a blast! I would definitely start slow and then also tighten the trendles up when it first arrives. Then loosen when ready. They say that on a full charge it can get 11miles. But when riding it doesn't seem as long. But I haven't done a sure tested way to check this. Also have to be aware of any large crates or bumps in the road/sidewalk. Any bigger hills you have to bump up in speed to get up the hills or the board will stall. Overall this is a great board and I would recommend it to anyone who has the extra cash to spend.
So far so good despite not getting advertised range

This is my first electric longboard. I've had it for two weeks now and love it despite the battery mileage not being as good as advertised. I'm in my late 40's and have been skateboarding off and on since I was a kid; learning this was pretty easy, but definitely gave me a few startles with how fast it can accelerate. Pro tips: learn to lean forward just before you accelerate, and start to lean back before you brake. I ride the beach bike path in Santa Monica and have been recording my rides with my GPS to see I am only getting about 25-30 total minutes ride time on a full charge and mileage of about 6-8 miles per ride even when I loop my apartment's block draining the battery all the way to 0 charge where the board crawls to a slow halt. I've been riding on medium to full throttle on level 3 on the controller with average speed of 15 mph, so maybe the advertised 11 mile range requires a much slower speed. Definitely tempted to upgrade to the V5 ER battery since it would be fun to be able to cruise for 45-60 minutes with its double Watt-hour capacity compared to the regular V5 battery. The bushings and trucks are pretty loose and i've felt a little bit of speed wobble when hitting 15-20 mph on straightaways but it hasn't been bad enough for me to want to tighten up the trucks and lose the easy carving ability of looser trucks. Hope my the battery and electronics last longer than some of the negative reviews report below and will plan to update my review here in a few months either way.
So far so good

The media could not be loaded. My meebo v5 is great so far. Super fast very reliable but you must tighten everything. The bolts on the batteries were loose. The trucks were super loose. The only things that were tight were the front and back wheels. But that's not a super bad thing. All you really need to do is hop on the board out of the box and figure out how tight you want it. Plus the front and back bolts are magnetized so if you buy lights, you don't need to replace the bolts.
The speed on this is crazy. It's about twice as fast if not five times as fast than my original mini board plus it's range is super good, less than advertised but enough for my area.
The lights I bought for it are perfect. I didn't need to replace or takeoff anything they just snap right on and are perfect for nights.
I have only had it for about a week but it's purfect.
Now if you are looking to buy this just note that unless you use speed 2, (9to12mph) depending on your weight, the entire time you will not get the full range but if. You use speed 3 the entire time you get about 75 to 85% of the advertised distance which is better then you think. Also you don't get the remote with the speed display you have to buy it, and if your under 150lbs this thing will take off under your feet if you do not brace yourself, and any speed over 15mph WILL make you speed wobble if you do not properly tighten your trucks and place your feet properly. I found that keeping the back trucks tighter than the front trucks helps with speed wobble and helps with tighter turns.

Meepo V3 versus Meepo Mini – I own both
Laura Jamison✓ Verified Purchase•August 10, 2023
"¢ Long versus Short - There is more to it with an eSkate. Most people are very likely to have a preference already but hear me out on this"¦ Everything changes with sustained speeds over 20 mph. It gets downright sketchy pushing 30 mph. One must crank the trucks down incredibly tight, or else you will get a death wobble. The severe uncontrollable side-to-side motion at high speed is always going to happen unless (as instructed in huge font on the box) you tighten the trucks to match your weight and riding style.
+1 for the Mini - You can turn the board by lifting the front wheels off the ground! With trucks cranked tight, you have now limited your ability to weight shift to turn. It effectively increases the board's turning radius, which is a bit problematic when trying to make tight corners on sidewalks and such. The longboard V3 does not have a tail that extends past the rear truck. That means you can't tip the front trucks off of the ground and point the nose in a different direction as one would typically do on a shortboard skateboard.
+1 for the longboard V3 "“ The longer wheelbase on the V3 makes going fast so much more stable compared to the Mini. The V3 is far less twitchy and less prone to getting caught up on rocks and bad pavement at speed. The roominess that comes with length also makes carving the V3 so much easier. They are really long carves because the trucks are cranked down so much, but it's seriously fun ripping back and forth going 25mph. It feels more stable changing direction at speed to avoid obstacles. It's just the tight turning that's difficult on the V3.
"¢ Battery life over distance. "“ I've done 10 mile rides on flat surfaces and still had charge left. I also noticed that the battery charges very quickly. I rode 3.5 miles just now to go get lunch, came back, plugged it in, and 14 minutes later, it's at 100% again.
"¢ Build quality "“ Heavy and well built. This isn't built like a toy. It's also quite heavy, but there isn't so much that can be done about that. You don't notice the weight when you are riding it around.
"¢ The hand controller "“ I like the display, and it's very intuitive. Sturdy as well as it's been dropped a few times. KNOW THIS! - - > It's a throttle, and it only moves about an inch forward and back (for braking). That means there is between zero and 28mph worth of thrust in that inch. DO NOT whisky throttle the thing, especially in the beginning. Move the throttle as slowly as you possibly can until you get the hang of it. This is for all eSkates, not just Meepo. Even experienced skateboarders will end up on their butt the first time unless you tell them to ease into it.
"¢ The Box "“ The box itself is worthy. I've kept it and usually store my board in it. It has a handy handle. I suppose if the cardboard or something wears out, I will use the dimensions and create a more permanent box since the foam insert that cradles the board in the box is super sweet. That foam will last forever, and if you want to travel with your board, you best hold onto it.
"¢ The tools "“ The tools are good, the T-tool is especially nice, but the sockets on it aren't deep enough. Heavy people, like 200+, will need to crank the trucks down tighter than the T-tool will allow before it bottoms out. You can strip the nuts if you aren't careful. You won't be doing this very often, so it's not a big deal, and it's worth noting that the truck adjustment nut on the front is a different size than the adjustment nut on the back truck.
"¢ Remote battery charging cable "“ It comes with a cable that may not be obvious what it's for. This cable is used when the battery is removed (or you have a spare). This adaptor allows you to plug the battery directly into the charger when the battery is not installed on the board.
"¢ The charger "“ Is like any other charger you have ever used. It's about the same size and length as a typical laptop charger. It's also very effective at charging batteries quickly. You will notice that it gets a little hot so keep that in mind. Best to keep it well exposed to the open air when charging.
"¢ Overall "“ Buying one of each size has been a terrific experience. I am keeping both. These boards are a hoot, and it's even more fun when you bring a friend.

A quality EPV

The first surprise is that it shipped with haste and was well packaged. The was the stock performance was a little smoother do to the 90mm wheels. To reduce shock greatly upgrade the wheels to 105 doughnut and add at the very least a 1/4 riser soft pad. The speed is good along with the range. Though meepo if you wanted me to test a er battery for it I'd gladly review it.with a video quality. Over all 4 out of 5 star great product
