• •A free-flowering, compact selection with large, double, lavender-blue blooms. A first flush of flowers is followed by a second flush in late summer. Train on an arbor, fence or trellis, or leave unsupported and allow to climb through medium-sized shrubs. An excellent choice for patios and small spaces.
• •Maturing to only six to eight feet high, this smaller Clematis is excellent in a container by a trellis or taller plant for support, but remember to keep it well watered.
• •Light pruning will keep it in shape for its first flush of blooms in early summer and subsequent blooming into autumn.
• •The time to prune this group is in late winter or early spring. Dead and weak shoots should be removed and the remaining shoots cut back to 6-9 inches above a couple of well-developed buds.
• •These varieties begin to bloom in early summer, with the first flush of flowers appearing on the previous year's growth. This is followed by a second flush flowers appearing on the new growth. These flowers will likely be smaller than the first ones and flowers that were double the first time may be single the second time.
