I was tired of my dog crate sitting directly on our carpet. We have a large crate/kennel so I ordered 2 sets and made a 3x5 pad. Works wonderfully. I also snapped two tiles in going the wrong direction for the pattern I was making with the wood going in alternating directions. I was sure it would tear up to unsnap it. But it didnt! I used a flathead screw driver on the reverse side to gently push the clip back through and they popped apart with the snapping portion completely intact so I could turn the tile and resnap it. I could think of several uses for this product. It is lightweight so if setting on top of s smooth surface it will slide. Ours is on carpet w and the crate adds some weight so the platform stays where I put it. If I had used it on the wood floor it would have slid around and eventually worm away the finish on the floor. So read what is recommended to keep it in place if buying to use on a smooth surface.

It is light. But didn't match my other different interlock. So I used it differently. Water repellent on top. Separation inbetween is great water flows thru.

I put these over packed sand with a fabric barrier on top of the sand. I was not able to lock the pieces together on this surface. I ended up putting a piece of cardboard under the pieces I was locking together to have a more solid base. I would then move the cardboard to the next pieces. It would be easier on top of a hard surface. I suppose this isn't a bad problem to have since you wouldn't want them to come apart easily. They look great and the process was simple. My area was 108 square feet so it took all four boxes. The tiles are more like 1/2" thick.
