I was skeptical how a wooden xylophone might sound. I was looking for resonator tubes ... but not needed !
This xylophone sounds really good and loud enough.
Easy to assemble - My 12 yo assembled it without ***any*** help.
Only thing is that the mallets are made up of plastic. I would have expected wooden heads. But again, it sounds great, so, I am fine with it.

The overall tone is very nice but I recommend buying a different set of mallets, as the one that comes with the keyboard are cheap and came apart within minutes. The stand also leaves much to be desired. It does not sturdily hold the keyboard at a good height unless you're about three feet tall. That being said, I'm still happy with the purchase for the price. Exactly what I needed for my son to practice.
