The magnetic cap works great. I installed them on my 2 new Honda 2200is. After about 15 hours of running I changed the oil and found the magnetic tips in each generator covered in the about same amount of iron filings and dust. I am happy this was collected and expect the amount of filings to decrease with the next oil change.
The extension tube is unnecessary. Hence the one star less than perfect. The new Honda 2200i comes with a spout under the oil fill which greatly enhances the process. I found it easier to control pouring the old oil out using the built in spout than when using the extension. When pouring the new oil in you need a funnel, either with the extension or without. It is easier to know when to stop adding oil without the extension, because you can see better. Also, for some reason there is a lip partway down the extension tube where oil collects. So there will always be a little oil remaining in the tube to create a mess when you remove it. I believe this item would be useful on older generators that do not have the built in spout.
The quality of both parts is excellent. Milled and anodized aluminum parts that fit perfectly if you thread them in carefully.
