Keeping it simple

Are you one of those who watches Alone and Naked and Afraid and now you want to go out there and test your skills in the wild, but not live too in the wild, because let's face it, your shopping for a stove to cook your next meal on. Have you recently taken up backpacking and need a super light and functional stove to make your morning coffee while breathing the fresh crisp clean air in nature? Do you need something easy and reliable that will work with a multitude of pans and canisters? Are you wanting to keep it simple and stuff this tiny little stove into your pack so you have room for more important things you really don't need out there on the trail? Are you a seasoned outdoorsman and decided the more expensive sets are too cumbersome? Well this is the stove you want to pick. Small, super light, compact, fits in my coffee mug and starts every time. Love this and would buy again.
Works great

Tiny, lightweight, easy to use. Heats water very quickly. Small diameter of cookware support area makes use with even small pans a bit of a challenge, thus the 4-star rating.
Does the same job as much more expensive units.

Our scout troop goes backpacking a couple time a year. This stove is great for that purpose. It may not be as rugged as higher-end units (then again maybe it is ) but it does the same job at a fraction of the price. I bought 2 in case one does fail and it was still less than half the price of a name brand model. If I was a serious backpacker, I would probably get the more expensive model for piece of mind. The only thing that got my attention was the arms that hold your pot are a kind of short, so pay attention when cooking. Otherwise it seems to be a nicely finished piece of equipment that does what it is supposed to do. The controls work smoothly, nothing seems flimsy. Packs in a small plastic case.
This is a great back up stove

This is not a $100 stove with all the bells and whistles. This is a super small compact stove that is super inexpensive. It performs as it should simple to attach, had a little trouble getting it to light so moved the ignition needle closer to the gas inlet and had ignition. I didn't have high exceptions but it definitely is useful especially if you are doing a day hike and want some hot oatmeal or tea or whatever. The legs that unfold are not super long so make sure you do your best to level the spot where you will be placing the canister and stove. Not a bad idea to use a wind break, I used the one from my old stove. For the price and for the weight it is an awesome buy. Just remember not to compare it to your Cadillac stove like I started too.
Good for the money

This is a good stove for the price point. If you are worried about you should probably go with the BRS instead. The piezo was the selling point of this one for me, but that isn't as reliable and useful as I hoped. I carry a small bic just in case the piezo fails.
All together this stove is adequate and does what it should do at a much cheaper price than an MSR.
