I felt I needed a black doily to offset the white one I had used on a nearby table for decor. This was my first choice as the shape is unique and patter is beautiful. I received this overnight, very fast. It's great, even came with a little coaster sized doily that matches which I was unaware of! Only mentionable downside is that it has some loose ends, but they can be tucked - or woven in if you care to go through the effort.
