Picture is nice, brightness is good. I wasn't expecting anything amazing as far as sound"¦ but I was still disappointed. It's slightly louder than a smart phone speaker. Really would only work if you're sitting right next to it.

This product wouldn't adjust but 1/7 the movement it was supposed to have. Waited too long to return as we wanted to use it for Halloween and it wasn't setup until recently. Had a super small window of focus so can only have it about 6 feet away from what you are projecting. No way to grow or shrink the size.

We recently purchased a Model HI-04 Digital Mini Projector from Dr.J Professional. As a matter of background, we had been using a Dr.J Model AK-30 Full Size Digital Projector for general "Theater" usage. We have been pleased with performance of this full-size projector, and offer the following thoughts on Dr.J's Mini Model:
It's small size allows more options for discrete in-home mounting opportunities. Also, it is more convenient to use for business and travel purposes. It's small size is easy to pack.
While in a smaller package, video quality is superior to our current full-size projector in terms of brightness, color, and clarity. Our typical placement is 10' from the screen. At this distance, it provides a crisp 8' X 4' image (Approx.).
Set-up instructions are simple. If you have a Smart Phone or TV, you will be quickly up and running.
The only downside is in over-all audio performance. The small speaker sounds tinny and it detracts from a theater-like experience. We connected our mini projector to an inexpensive Dell computer speaker system, and sound was greatly improved. Audio performance of the basic unit should not be an issue if you plan to use this mini-projector for Power-Point type presentations and the like.
Overall, I'd rate the Dr.J HI-40 Mini Projector as a recommended "Buy" for the money.

Great Projector on a Great Budget

Honestly, a seriously fun projector! I'd already purchased a projector from the same company (the larger of these two) and I'm wholly pleased with both. This projector is noticeably smaller as you can see from the pictures, and the noise is also far reduced. Full lighting in the living room and I can still comfortably see the screen, and once the lights are off its crystal clear. It comes with a remote and screen included as well as a few other cables for basic input devices. The only thing to note is that the instruction manual says it is 720p native, but it can accept higher resolutions and convert down. I'd recommend a speaker to connect to the projector (I'm always looking for peak sound) but even the audio out of the box itself is perfectly fine.
If you're looking for a budget projector for a college dorm or something easy to take with you when going out I highly recommend. Customer support was incredibly kind and quick on the response (thank you Phyllis - you're the bomb) and can help you out.

When I purchased and received this mini projector , it was not working out of the box . The lights were not coming on . I tried other AC outlets at my home and the lights were still not coming on.
