We ordered these to keep in our emergency essentials, and thought we might test them out in the nearby creeks this summer. When it arrived, the plastic package was already torn open and there was only one trap instead of two. The one we received is very well made. It is held in the folded position by wrapped wire hooks. Once released, it springs open to full-size. It wasn't too difficult to flatten it again and put the hooks back in place to hold it firmly. We are pleased with the one we received and are bummed we didn't get the second one.

I used these for crawfish gathering, and they did well for that. However, as others have noted, there is no zipper for removing them, or baiting the traps. What should take a few seconds by opening the traps and dumping them takes several minutes since you must reach into the trap and grab each crawfish individually by hand and remove them. I'd have returned them but my trip was the morning after these arrived, and I couldn't find my other traps...so it was these or nothing. I guess in my case they actually were better than nothing.
