Using a 4 oz non-woven geotextile fabric allows for sufficient filtration, as well as soil separation from the drainage aggregate which extends the lifespan of the drainage system. Using 4 oz fabric is more cost-effective than an 8 oz fabric and is easier to cut, handle, and install.
