Key features

  • Nest Cam with floodlight has built-in intelligence and can tell the difference between a person, animal, and vehicle and send alerts directly through the Google Home app[1], no subscription required
  • Easily check in from anywhere 24/7 with 1080p HDR video[1] with night vision; see what you missed with 3 hours of free event video history[2], or add a Nest Aware Plus subscription for 10 days of 24/7 recording and 60 days of event video history[3]
  • If your Wi-Fi goes down or there's a power outage, Nest Cam will store up to an hour of recorded events so you can see what you missed[4]
  • Nest Cam with floodlight detects more than just motion; it automatically lights up when there's important activity and it can even detect familiar faces with a Nest Aware subscription[3,5], so you know who's coming and going
  • Take action in an instant if something happens; talk and listen with the built-in speaker and mic on your security camera or call your local emergency service directly from the Google Home app (Nest Aware subscription required)[6]
  • Stream your live video feed hands-free on compatible smart displays with Google Assistant and smart displays, smart TVs, and tablets with Amazon Alexa. You can also ask Google Assistant to turn on the floodlight.

Very high resolution, excellent color, excellent software and phone app. Could set cameras to only alert when people are detected. Other choices, such as passing cars, animals, etc. can be ignored if desired to reduce alerts. Has facial recognition and remembers names so it provides the names of specific persons detected if desired. Very easy to set up.
This is the best outdoor easy to use camera.

The only thing I don't like is it doesn't rotate on its own. Outside of that I now have two as outside security cameras and they are awesome. The video is very good, although not as good as my eufy doorbell. But, for the price and ease to hook up to your smart phone, tablet, whatnot, it's amazing. It can take a few hours to charge, but then the battery lasts for 2 1/2 to three months. It alerts you when you need to charge. There are numerous settings and you can set up important zones to watch out for. I was worried the attachable lock wire was too easy to cut, and I tried with titanium scissors"¦..you would need a bolt cutter to cut the tiny line.
These keep going downhill

The IQ Nest camera and other previous versions were just better and not so bulky. The home app still is terrible compared to the Nest App, and you've lost the zoom focus functionality and other tweaks. There should also be 90 degree view/mounting options. How hard is that??
Regretting

Got 2 of them for bekyard and front door ,first you will need subscription for record memories and that cost 6$ per month, originally that saving video only for 3 hours , second very poor night vision even with lights , without lights you will see nothing! I will put photo also like a prove, second if you will buy what working from battery then you will be charging it every 3 weeks and that time you will need take camera and put in charge at home or you can buy soler battery what compare with nest google cameras 50$ for each camera, that not rotate ! Has no automatically rotation, and what really disappointing that very poor review! And that cameras not cheap at all ,then I would keep it and hoping that will work for long time because camera outside can go through rain, nad cold and snow and hot weather,so my last hope life time of the cameras will be longer then chipper cameras.
Works great

Installed two cams outside on house power. Initialization and installation went fine. The cams give good imaging day and night. Good detection of people, animals (bears are primary interest), vehicles, motion. For my hardwired setup I'm very satisfied with these cams. I think they are great. The Google Home App is fine for my application, which is monitoring the cams. I'm not into whole-house and voice-control stuff, so I can't comment on the App for those interests. I have my separate Nest App for my Nest thermostat; I don't care that I have two apps. Battery drain in the cams could be an issue for stand-alone use. I'd think twice about installing a battery-only cam well out of reach. Five stars except for possible battery issues depending on application; therefore four stars overall.
